A dream journal template for the morning
Answer the questions that fit. Fragments are welcome, and you can leave any field blank.
- What do I remember? Keep scenes, sounds or fragments. Mark anything you are unsure about.
- Who and where? Name remembered people and places without filling in missing details.
- How did it feel? Separate the feeling in the dream from the feeling after waking.
- What does it bring to mind? Optional: record your own associations as questions, not definite meanings.
A dream journal entry example
This fictional example shows how brief your answers can be.
- What do I remember?
- I was waiting for a train, but the platform looked like my old kitchen. I remember a blue door.
- Who and where?
- My cousin was there. The station name is missing.
- How did it feel?
- In the dream I felt late. After waking I felt curious, then relieved.
- What does it bring to mind?
- I was planning a trip yesterday. Is that why the station came to mind?

Keep the entry in memoir
Copy the writing you want to keep, then paste it into a new entry in memoir. Website drafts do not transfer automatically. Follow the writing guide or start with one line a day. You can also answer these questions as a voice note.
Questions before you begin
Do I need to complete every field?
No. A few words in one field are enough. Leave anything else blank.
Will my writing be saved?
Only if you explicitly copy, download or print it. This tool keeps a draft in page memory and clears it on reload.
Can I print the template without an account?
Yes. Print a blank worksheet or your completed entry. Your browser controls paper size and any Save as PDF option.
Does this synchronize with memoir?
No. Copy your answers and paste them into a new app entry if you want to continue there.
Does this interpret my dream?
No. It helps you record details and your own associations. It does not decode symbols, predict events or assess your health.
What if I only remember a feeling?
Write that feeling and leave the other fields blank. You can also write “no dream recalled” without trying to invent details.
