KEEP THE FRAGMENTS
A dream journal app for the details you wake up with
A room that did not quite make sense. Someone you have not seen for years. Record the pieces you remember in memoir, even when you cannot turn them into a story.
For iPhone and iPad. Listed as Memoiri on the App Store.
Record a dream before starting your day
Open your journal and write a few words, or record a voice note. Begin wherever your memory starts: a place, a conversation or a feeling. You can come back to the entry later and add a detail you remember.
When speech recognition is available and permitted, review the transcript for names and unusual dream details. Keep the recording if the words alone miss something. Transcription availability depends on language, device and services.
What should I write in a dream journal?
Keep remembered details separate from what you think they might mean. “I remember a red staircase” records a scene; “perhaps it reminds me of school” records an association. Neither needs to become a complete explanation.
Use the dream journal template for scenes, people, places and feelings. Copy any answers you want to keep and paste them into an app entry; the website worksheet does not sync.
Remembered scene
I was looking for my seat on a train, but every carriage opened into a garden.
After waking
I felt curious rather than worried. The flowers were yellow; I cannot remember who was with me.
Give dream notes their own place
If you want to separate dream notes from everyday memories, choose a dedicated journal in your journal library. Use a simple name such as “Dreams”. You can also keep them in the journal you already use.
Add a sketch when a room or shape is easier to draw than describe. It is a record of what you remember, without needing an interpretation.
Find an older dream by a remembered detail
A word you wrote, such as “garden” or “train”, gives you a starting point in Find. Open the results and compare the actual entries rather than relying on what you remember of them.
Memoir is a flexible journal. It does not decode dream symbols, predict future events or provide a clinical interpretation. The screenshots show the app’s capture and search features with sample content.
Questions before you start
Can I use memoir as a dream journal on iPhone?
Yes. Use a journal for dream entries, with text, voice recordings and optional sketches. The same app also works on iPad.
What if I only remember a few words?
Save those words. You can leave gaps or note that you are unsure. There is no need to fill in a missing story.
Does the app analyze dream meanings?
This workflow records your dreams and your own reflections. It does not offer a dream dictionary or guaranteed interpretation.
Can I try a template before downloading?
Yes. The dream journal worksheet works in your browser and can be printed without an account.
