A simple daily journal template
Use any of these four lines. You can leave questions unanswered and skip days. This is a structure for remembering a day, not a scorecard.
- What happened today? Choose one moment instead of listing everything.
- How did I feel? Name the feeling and what was happening around it.
- What do I want to remember? Keep a detail your future self might otherwise miss.
- What is one thought for tomorrow? An intention, a question or something to pick up again.
A completed daily entry
This fictional example shows how brief your answers can be.
- What happened today?
- Lina called while I was making tea. We talked until it went cold.
- How did I feel?
- Tired after work, then glad to hear a familiar voice.
- What do I want to remember?
- She laughed about getting lost on the way to the same café again.
- What is one thought for tomorrow?
- Send Lina the photo I mentioned.

Keep the entry in memoir
Copy the writing you want to keep, then paste it into a new entry in memoir. Website drafts do not transfer automatically. Follow the writing guide or start with one line a day. You can also answer these questions as a voice note.
Questions before you begin
Do I have to answer all four questions?
No. Leave any question blank. An entry can be just one moment or one feeling.
Will my writing be saved?
Only if you explicitly copy, download or print it. This tool keeps a draft in page memory and clears it on reload.
Can I print the template without an account?
Yes. Print a blank worksheet or your completed entry. Your browser controls paper size and any Save as PDF option.
Does this synchronize with memoir?
No. Copy your answers and paste them into a new app entry if you want to continue there.
