Keep a one-line-a-day journal in memoir

One line a day is a writing approach you can use in memoir. It does not require a separate mode, a perfect streak, or a special journal template.

How to get started

  1. Choose a small moment to remember.
  2. Write one sentence in your journal and save it.
  3. Return when you have something else to notice, whether tomorrow or another day.

Choose something specific

A small detail can be easier to return to than a summary of everything. You might record a conversation, a place, a decision, or the feeling that stayed with you.

If a sentence becomes a paragraph, that is fine too. The point is to make starting comfortable, not to enforce a word count.

Make it easy to return

A writing reminder can offer a gentle cue if you want one. Reflection and Search help you revisit what you saved, while your timeline keeps the original context.

The website’s one-line-a-day tool is a temporary practice space. It does not synchronize with the app; copy a note into memoir if you want to keep it there.

Return to the days you captured

Use Reflection’s activity view to see saved days, then open individual memories for their context. Several notes on one day are still one calendar day of writing.

The streak guide explains how to interpret activity without turning a gap into a reason to stop.
