Diaro is worth considering if you want a diary organized with folders, tags and keyword search, plus Dropbox-linked browser access. Its main purchase decision is whether you need the paid sync and export features. If a native Windows app or a different cloud provider is essential, compare alternatives before moving your journal.

Diaro review: who is it a good fit for?

A reason to try it

You like filing entries by subject and finding them with filters. Diaro describes searches by keyword, date, tag, folder and location. That could suit a travel diary or a collection of everyday notes you want to revisit.

Check before committing

Make sure Dropbox fits your setup, that your plan includes the features you need, and that you can export a useful copy. Check the browser workflow on your own computer before transferring years of entries.

Diaro's official overview describes its organization and browser sync. The Android listing also documents photos, moods and a calendar. These are useful capabilities to inspect, rather than evidence that the interface will suit everyone.

Is Diaro free? What do Pro and Premium include?

Diaro is free to download, with paid upgrades. Its Android listing identifies ads and in-app purchases. The public support pages use both Pro and Premium for paid features, so read the offer shown on your device rather than assuming the labels describe two distinct current tiers.

How much does Diaro Pro cost?

On October 14, 2026, the US App Store purchase list shows Diaro Pro 1 Year at $8.99 and Diaro PRO at $39.99. The second item has no stated billing period, so this review does not label it a lifetime purchase.

The description on that same page still says $5.99 per year. Treat that as a documentation conflict. Confirm the price, renewal terms and included platforms in the purchase screen before paying. These US iOS figures do not establish Android or web prices.

Diaro on Windows, iPhone, Android and the web

Diaro publishes mobile listings for iPhone and iPad and Android. For a Windows PC, its documented route is Diaro Online in a web browser. This is the route to check if you searched for a Diaro app for Windows 10; we have not verified a separate native Windows application.

Diaro's iOS sync guide requires a paid Pro account, the same Diaro account and the same linked Dropbox account on the devices involved. Browser access to your mobile entries therefore deserves a sync test before you commit.

Use a few fictional entries for that test. Add a photo, change an entry in one place, and check the result on the other device after sync completes. Test the direction you actually need, such as phone to browser and back. This is a suggested check, not a report that we tested sync performance.

Is the Diaro app safe and private?

Separate three questions: who can open the app, where the journal is stored, and what data the service collects.

An app lock and a Dropbox connection do not, by themselves, establish end-to-end encryption. The sources reviewed here do not provide enough detail for us to verify that property. Read the current disclosures against your own requirements, and check how your phone, Dropbox account and exported copies are protected.

How to check a Diaro export before moving your journal

Diaro's browser export guide describes an Export / Import menu and PDF, DOCX or TXT output. Its "Currently filtered" option exports only the selected subset. The paid-feature guide includes export among upgrade features.

  1. Create a small sample. Include a dated entry, a tag and a photo you are comfortable using for a test. Keep a separate copy of any original journal you might later migrate.
  2. Export that sample. Follow the official guide for your platform. Check the selected format and whether an active filter limits the entries being exported.
  3. Open the result outside Diaro. Inspect the text, dates and photos you expect to keep. If you plan to move to another app, check its accepted import format separately before transferring the full archive.

A readable PDF is useful for keeping or printing a copy. It does not establish that another app can import editable entries, tags and attachments. Several public help articles date to 2018, so the current menu labels may differ from their screenshots.

Diaro vs Diarium, Day One and memoir

Diaro vs Diarium

They are different apps. Diarium publishes native apps for Windows, Mac, Android, iPhone and iPad, with optional Pro sync through several personal cloud services. Its Pro purchase is per platform. It is worth comparing if you need a native desktop app or a choice beyond Dropbox. Diaro's browser approach may suit you if installing desktop software is inconvenient.

Diaro vs Day One

Day One's plan table lists end-to-end encryption, PDF export and one photo per entry in Basic. Silver adds multi-device journaling and expanded media. Compare those specific boundaries with the Diaro functions you need; a free download does not tell you the cost of your whole workflow. Our Day One vs Diarium comparison explores those two alternatives in more detail.

Where memoir fits

For an iPhone and iPad diary, memoir offers text, moods and voice capture in a daily timeline. Its optional upgrade has different boundaries, explained in the memoir+ guide. Check the wider app comparison against your actual devices, capture habits and need to keep a copy.

Common questions about the Diaro app

Is the Diaro app free?

It is free to download, with paid features. Diaro's upgrade guide places Dropbox sync and document export among paid capabilities, and its Android listing identifies ads and in-app purchases.

What is the difference between Diaro Pro and Premium?

Diaro's public pages use both names for paid features. The reviewed documentation does not establish two separate current tiers. Check the features, billing period and platform coverage of the offer shown to you.

Can I use Diaro on Windows 10?

Diaro documents browser access through Diaro Online. Test that workflow in your browser; this review has not verified a native Windows app or certified compatibility with a particular Windows installation.

Does Diaro have a lock?

Its iOS support guide documents a Security Code for opening the app. That access control does not establish how synced data is encrypted. Check app settings, account security and the published privacy information separately.

Is Diaro the same as Diarium?

No. They are separate products. Diaro documents Dropbox-linked browser access, while Diarium publishes native desktop apps and several optional cloud choices. Check the app name and developer before installing or buying.

Can I export my Diaro entries?

Yes. Diaro documents paid document export, with a browser guide for PDF, DOCX and TXT. Check the available formats on your platform and open a sample export before relying on it for a move.
